Man who is accused of horrific attack claims he thought his victim was a robot

This is horrific.. Local Oregon affiliates are reporting that 25-year-old Koryn Daniel Kraemer has been charged with second-degree assault after he allegedly bit and chewed off part of an elderly man’s ear and face, early Tuesday morning. Kraemer said he consumed alcohol, marijuana, and fentanyl pills before the attack, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office in Oregon said. Police arrested Kraemer shortly after 2 a.m. after finding him still on top of the victim, a 78-year-old man from Hillsboro, at a commuter rail station in Gresham, east of Portland. It added, in interviews with law enforcement, Kraemer said he believed the victim was a “robot” and was trying to kill him because of how he “smelled.” Kraemer further stated that he spit out the flesh of the victim he had consumed, and the responding law enforcement had saved his life by separating him from "the robot." He is being held without bail..

Hearing held on Kohberger, probably cause affidavit released

Male DNA left on a knife sheath was used to  link a then-doctoral student in Washington state  with the slayings of  four University of Idaho students  in November — and a surviving roommate came basically face-to-face with him the night of the killings, according to court documents unsealed Thursday. A  probable cause affidavit  prepared by Moscow, Idaho, police Officer Brett Payne lays out how investigators used video surveillance in the area to connect the quadruple homicide with a white Hyundai Elantra driven by Bryan Kohberger, 28. He is being held without bail at this time..

Bryan Kohberger’s classmates begin to speak out

Classmates of the Idaho quadruple murder suspect have said he became more chatty in their criminology class after November’s quadruple-slaying – but turned silent when the killings themselves were discussed. Bryan Kohberger, 28, was taken into custody by the Pennsylvania State Police on Friday morning more than 2,000 miles from where four university students were killed in their beds on November 13. Students who attended Washington State University with Kohberger were shocked to learn that the quiet man in their classroom was the prime suspect in the brutal slaying. MORE.. BK Norton, who was in the same criminal justice graduate program with Kohberger, said her classmate appeared more animated and talkative following the murders. ‘He seemed more upbeat and willing to carry a conversation,’ she told the New York Times . But Norton noted all his enthusiasm would go away and he would become ‘quiet and deadpan’ when the class would discuss the Idaho murder case. Another video that has...

Raid in Connecticut finds 'house of horror' with dead goats

A run-down estate in a ritzy Connecticut town devolved into a “horror house” littered with the decomposing corpses of dozens of goats. The grisly discovery was made March 10 by state Department of Agriculture agents responding to complaints about animal abuse and conditions, during a surprise raid on the property of 71-year-old Nancy Burton in Redding, 65 miles north of Manhattan. Burton is the widow of former New York Times culture and arts editor William Holmes Honan.. A four day surveillance was conducted and the operation revealed a number of animal health and property management concerns. It was observed that: • there was inadequate manure management and manure accumulated in and around the paddocks which resulted in animals having to take shelter in manure filled enclosures. • the animals do not have adequate access to fresh water. The water provided was wholly inadequate for the size of the goat herd. At a minimum, each goat should have access to one half gallon of clean water ...
