Chaos in the House! Another failed vote for McCarthy .. history in the making

It’s been 164 years since this happened! But what happens if there is no conclusion!! Every new Congress must pass a new set of House rules, so without a speaker to oversee adoption of those rules, none will technically exist.  Without an approved House Rules package by the end of business on January 13, committees also won’t be able to pay staff, according to a letter sent last week by the committee in charge of administrative matters, which was first reported by  Politico  and obtained by CNN. The same memo warned that student loan payments for committee staff wouldn’t be disbursed if a rules package isn’t adopted by mid-January. However,  per precedents of the chamber , the pay period for members-elect still starts on January 3, even if the first session of Congress begins after that date ,  as long as their credentials have been filed with the House clerk.

Biden takes a tumble

Biden  was on his way to  Atlanta  on Friday to meet with Asian community leaders following the  massage parlor shootings earlier this week . He tripped a total of three times as he made his way up the stairs to board Air Force One. However, Biden quickly recovered and carried on up the stairs, giving a salute before entering the aircraft. The White House  Principal Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed that Biden is "doing 100 percent fine" following the tumble. It also became a headline story on the Drudge Report immediately afterwards  Presidential Falls are nothing new, most presidents are caught on video hitting their heads, falling, or doing very human things. Heck Bush even choked on a pretzel .. But the media attention always becomes a little different when these events occur, as told in this Flashback to 1970s when Ford was lampooned and probably lost re election because of Chevy Chase’s impressions of him  https://time.com/4292...
