Finally a horror movie about COVID

Art imitates reality--horror movies and professional wrestling have long imitated the current times of their individual creations. Finally art is coming around to the reality we have been living in since COVID started.. First Trailer for COVID-19 Horror Movie ‘Sick’ From ‘Scream’ Writer Blumhouse and Kevin Williamson have teamed for a quarantine slasher movie that mocks masking and other pandemic-era topics. THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER The plotline: “As the pandemic steadily brings the world to a halt, Parker and her best friend Miri decide to quarantine at the family lake house alone—or so they think.” Sick had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in September, where it garnered strong reviews from critics, with wire service UPI declaring it “the most inspired pandemic movie so far … Sick reminds us there are still a few things scarier than COVID while also offering hope that there are ways to survive them all.” Sick will debut on the Peacock streaming service on Friday, Jan. 13. And it is...

Biden tests positive for Covid a second time

espite no new symptoms Biden is experiencing no new symptoms and "continues to feel quite well," Dr. Kevin O'Connor said in a memo shared by the White House.  CNBC  President Joe Biden tested positive for Covid-19 once again after consecutive days of testing negative for the virus, his physician said. Biden is experiencing no new symptoms and “continues to feel quite well,” Dr. Kevin O’Connor said in a memo shared by the White House. But he will nevertheless “reinitiate strict isolation procedures,” the presidential physician wrote. Is Paxlovid to blame?! The same thing happened to Doctor Anthony Fauci during his double bout with Covid..  Developing

Long COVID’s long shadow

Recently the @CDCgov acknowledged that 1 in 5 people will develop a new health condition (#LongCovid) after infection. Then today, the biggest study to date notes vaccines only reduce Long Covid incidence by 15%. ..  this number is interesting, juxtapose to numbers from the United Kingdom, America is reporting much higher incidents of long Covid. Overacross the pond, only about 2% of the population has self reported a long-term symptom related to the Covid infection. We don’t believe that makes the American numbers incorrect or creates a false sense that the lower British numbers are right either. Thinking back to the Covid infections as they were really astronomically high during 2021, let’s not forget how Americans were affected. Incidences of death in the United States seem to be somewhat higher than other industrialized nations. Perhaps it’s due to an overall health decline of the American population, or even due to the Americans being  massively overweight when compared ...

But the high number of healthy kids who needed a liver transplant is disconcerting.. Cases are under investigation in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and ...

INTOXICATED-19

First year of pandemic saw more deaths from alcohol than COVID in people under 65 A recent study done by federal researchers found there were more alcohol-related deaths than COVID deaths in the U.S. during 2020 in people under 65. The study discovered that, in 2020, there were 74,408 alcohol-related deaths among Americans ages 16 to 64 while, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there were only 67,991 deaths among Americans under 65 that included COVID-19 as an underlying cause. The researchers collected their data from death certificates, recording deaths in which alcohol was listed as an underlying cause. The study, performed by doctoral researchers from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, an arm of the National Institutes of Health, also shows alcohol-related deaths in 2020 – the first year of the pandemic – increased over 25% from the previous year.

COVID deaths staying high

Vaccines ... natural immunity.. and a whole lot of cases in the previous few weeks.. one would think COVID is just about over, right? While politicians seem to be acting as though mitigation efforts and making policies never happened, quickly ditching those same policies as "the science changes," deaths are remaining stubbornly high.. The numbers from today: COVID CASES USA 84,406 FEB 23 2022 71,913 FEB 23 2021 DEATHS 3,025 FEB 23 2022 2,328 FEB 23 2021 Beyond that, deaths are high: Covid-19 is killing more people now than during most of the pandemic! The troubling facts: More than 2,000 Covid-19 deaths have been reported in the United States each day for the past month. Average daily deaths are falling, but from a very high point. They dipped just below that mark in recent days, to about 1,900 on Monday; the federal holiday may have delayed reporting... While unvaccinated remain then highest danger category, it appears that vaccinated people have also seen an increase in COV...

Joe ready to take his mask off? Science just took a new path. Did you stop following it?

A sampling of headlines seals the deal: COVID, it seems, is over!?  Abrupt end to mask mandates reflects shifting political landscape... No vax proof for Oscars... Restrictions 'will soon be thing of past'... Hawaii will NOT require tourists to be boosted... UK to drops isolations... But is it!? So there are some voices in the wilderness of "science" who ponder the question: What should we follow now!? The harsh lockdowns and mask requirements are quickly waning. Those who wanted jail time for the maskless a month ago are now urging to fasten your seatbelt and watch the restrictions go away like magic. Science magic, after all? The science, we are now told, "changed." What in the world does that mean!? There are a chosen few still on social media that are shocked at the rapid turn of events. People are are questioning how this can be happening when there are ambulances shortages in rural America, hosoitals still overrun, a 900,000+ death toll, children stil...

Delta surge party zone: DJ deletes photos by request but a few of Obama maskless dancing were on display

Some more angry and somewhere outraged and some will just use this for political advantage. Former President Barack Obama celebrated his 60th birthday with a celebrity fueled crowd, mask list dancing and no social distancing.  There’s even word that environmentally safe John Carrie arrived on his gas guzzling private jet.. But what makes matters a bit more troubling politically, and also just terrible in the optics category, is this: Rapper Trap Beckham and manager TJ Chapman discreetly snapped pics of the event’s high-end food, drink and swag offerings and talked to their followers as the party unfolded, according to screenshots of the posts, which were later deleted under the event’s photography ban. Gold napkins, masks and backstage passes were emblazoned with 44X60, a reference to the 44th president’s 60th birthday, and bathroom amenities included antiperspirant wipes, a lint roller and Advil, according to the pictures. As usual TMZ had the scoop  about residents ange...

The pediatric variant: COVID-21 for kids

Delta.. Lambda.. and now Delta + .. It's beginning to sound like a mixture of different streaming platforms for download.. But these Greek letters all represent new stains of COVID-19 that are circulating around the planet.. While some have argued that until all Americans are vaccinated these will continue to develop, others point out that many of these are coming from other parts of the world. America is not the end all, just a mixture on a big planet .. until the entire PLANET is vaccinated we are behind the eight ball on COVID.. it has time to develop and get smarter. Sure, you can point out that viruses don't have a brain.. eventually they will weaken, you'll profess. One day COVID will be as dangerous as the common cold!  While all of that may be true,  it sure seems the danger is steadily increasing as opposing to lessening. The new COVID Delta variant in the United States is getting more people sick quicker--and these people are younger. A startling essay from Hea...

Delta hits Wuhan!

China reported 99 infections on Monday, including 44 who tested positive but have no symptoms.  Later in the day, seven more people were found to be infected in Wuhan, plus another in Beijing.  By number of cases, it’s the biggest outbreak since a flareup in Hebei province in northern China in January, when 2,000 people were infected. This is a developing story…

MOVE OVER DELTA! AND LAMBdA? THE GHOST OF COVID FUTURE: A VARIANT THAT COULD KILL 1 IN 3 PEOPLE

These highly frightening headlines are being reported in the United Kingdom: A sage warns that some future yet unknown variant could be responsible for killing up to 1 in 3 people who get it!! That it will be worse than MERS.. That we will have a deadly future.. This from the UK publication the EVENING STANDARD: Dr Philippa Whitford, vice-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Coronavirus, told Mail Online : “This report, which should have sent shock waves through the UK Government, was instead quietly snuck out among a glut of reports during parliamentary recess. “Recommendations and comments made by SAGE bring home the simple reality — that we have not yet "defeated" this virus. “The UK only donated its first vaccine doses internationally this week and, unless there is a rapid increase in global production, through sharing knowledge and technology, it simply will not be possible to vaccinate the world and bring the pandemic to an end. “Without stricter border contro...

COVID ‘break through case’ intrigue

This news being widely reported today: At least 125,000 fully vaccinated Americans have tested positive for Covid and 1,400 of those have died, according to data collected by NBC News. The 125,682  "breakthrough" cases  in 38 states found by NBC News represent less than .08 percent of the  164.2 million-plus people  who have been  fully vaccinated  since January, or about one in every 1,300. The number of cases and deaths among the vaccinated is very small compared to the number among the unvaccinated. But the number also is misleading because nine states, including Pennsylvania and Missouri, did not provide any information, while 11, like Covid hotspot Florida, did not provide death and hospitalization totals..

Sydney readies the army to enforce COVID LOCKDOWN!!

The report: With the city of 5 million people ordered to stay home amid an outbreak of the highly transmissable Delta variant, authorities outlined even tighter restrictions for the worst affected suburbs, including mandatory testing and mask-wearing outdoors. From Monday, some 300 Australian army personnel will help police door-knock people who have tested positive to the virus to ensure they are isolating, New South Wales police commissioner Mick Fuller said at a televised news conference. THE BATTLE OF CAPE COD!! THE COVID WAR HAS CHANGED!

THE DELTA DIVIDE.. THE VAXXES VS VAXXES NOT COMES INTO THE SPOTLIGHT AFTER Intrigue and concern is high in Atlanta today.. the CDC won't let us be or let me be me.. They are dumping news on the big TV.. On a Friday no less.. the perfect day for news dumps of highly important and earth changing information. Weekend rush hour begins near 5.. for those who are "back in the office" that is.. Meanwhile.. The variant and news of concern: ABC news is among sources reporting tonight about some troubling information regarding the Delta Variant. . Anne Flaherty and Arielle Mitropoulos have this information: A week after the crowds descended upon Provincetown, Massachusetts, to celebrate the Fourth of July — the holiday President Joe Biden hoped would mark the nation’s liberation from COVID-19 — the manager of the Cape Cod beach town said he was aware of “a handful of positive COVID cases among folks” who spent time there. “We are in touch with the Health Department and Outer Cap...

MASK ON. MASK OFF.

White House officials debate masking push as covid infections spike WASHINGTON - Top White House aides and Biden administration officials are debating... CHRON Washington Post reports on the internal debate.. Top White House aides and Biden administration officials are debating whether they should urge vaccinated Americans to wear masks in more settings as the delta variant causes spikes in coronavirus infections across the country, according to six people familiar with the discussions. The talks are in a preliminary phase and their result could be as simple as new messaging from top White House officials. But some of the talks include officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention who are separately examining whether to update their masking guidance, according to a Biden administration aide and a federal health official.

Uganda’s team had all been vaccinated with AstraZeneca shots and tested negative for the virus before departure, Japanese media reported,  according to the Associated Press . Japan requires a two-week quarantine for international travelers, though it is waiving the rule for many Olympic athletes and support staffers. Variants be damned! NYC to throw ticker tape parade in July to celebrate health care heroes and essential workers

Variants be damned! NYC to throw ticker tape parade in July to celebrate health care heroes and essential workers Just as the world was beginning to see the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, American leaders and especially those in New York City were still saying to go to large events, China Town, and Broadway. The inevitible happened. And now just as the planet is seeing new effects of a much more infective Delta, or Indian, variant, New York decided to throw a massive ticker tape parade to honor essential workers. Good idea. When the pandemic is over.. Somehow, the media decided it’s finished, while England extends their lockdowns into July and people are heading back into hospitals in various nations.. The event honoring New York City’s “hometown heroes” will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 7 in the Canyon of Heroes. The parade will kick off in Battery Park and end with a ceremony in City Hall Park. “This year that we’ve been through, it has literally been the great...

Maybe the kids aren't alright

The CDC noted a rise in COVID-19 related hospitalizations in adolescents in March and April, and the agency’s leader is now urging parents to vaccinate their teenagers.
