UFO intrigue in a time of war

So Russia said it shot down a UFO.
And theories have gone wild since..





Mainstream reports indicate that Russia is boasting its air defense shot down what they call a UFO, a ball of light that could be a drone ..

In the midst of the 'fog of war' in Ukraine and Russia, stories like this can be wildly overblown..

Vasily Golubev, the governor of Rostov oblast, wrote on Telegram that a "small-size object in the shape of a ball" had been discovered flying "in the wind" at an altitude of around one and a half miles on January 3. With the object spotted above the village of Sultan Sala in the region's Myasnikovsky district, Golubev said "the decision was taken to liquidate it."

"I urge everyone to remain calm. To ensure security, all forces and means are involved. The sky is covered with anti-aircraft defenses," he added, without specifying what the object was.


But others are actively pondering a more supernatural element to the ball of light..

This isn't the first time there were alleged signs of otherworldly activity in Russia's Rostov Oblast.

Back in 2007, some fishermen along the Sea of Azov managed to catch a strange, seemingly unidentified 100 kg. life form after a strong storm. They had filmed this strange squeaking creature with a cellphone camera and assumed it was an alien of some sort.

But before anyone could verify these claims, the Russian fishermen decided to eat this supposed alien, with one of them saying it was the best food he ever had, according to a report in Komsomolskaya Pravda.

Of course, this was almost certainly no alien, and many believe the creature was either a sturgeon or a guitarfish.
