The first Olympic team has officially arrived in Japan for the Tokyo Olympics — where they will spend the next seven weeks before the Games confined to their hotel.
“We can’t go outside and go for a walk, but that’s OK,” Chelsea Forkin, a member of Australia’s early-arriving softball team, told The New York Times. “We understand the rules and want to be respectful.”
The Times adds that visiting teams must also “sign a form in which they promise not to make contact with the general public.”

We agree with Costas! Cancel and set to next year. And get back on track for summer and winter Olympics every 4 years…
But we would be clearly on the way out (GOD WILLING) of the pandemic for sure, unless a variant or new one pops up, and we would also be back on the 4 year schedule. Back when both the summer and winter games took place the same year, every four years, before it got changed to a 2 year cycle...

What's the point, at this point!
Actually if the games were called off ONE MORE YEAR, a few things would happen. CBS would lose lots of revenue.. The inter-political struggles would commence. Some would be sad of all the money they wasted on performance enhancing drugs...

One thing remains clear: Japan has been struggling to get its citizens vaccinated in big numbers. And they have some BIG games about to start.
No wonder they are freaking out and not letting people even take walks, right?
